New Leader of the Free World. Can He Fix It?

Today was an interesting day, it was exciting and also moving to see the election of Obama as the new US President Elect. It is historical moment and to be able to live through this and see it happen is a privilege. Hopefully this man can bring back the spirit of the founding fathers that has been lost over the past eight years.

One of the most admirable traits of this man is his power of speech, his ability to move a person through speech and is a refreshing change from Dubya's stupid remarks (though they shall be missed).

I guess anything is better than Dubya, and well now the task ahead of him is whether he has the will to make the changes necessary, and move the US out of this pit it currently finds itself in. The toughest decision would be pulling the troops out, though it needs to be done to protect and strengthen the US economy, which at this point in time is much more important than an endless war that seems to be going nowhere at the moment, and not to mention that now is a good a time as ever to declare victory and pull out of Iraq.

Well he cannot do any worse than Dubya, he can take solace in that. By just being average it would be a far better presidency than what we have seen for the past eight years, consider the fact that 42 US President accumulated a national debt of approximately 5-6 trillion dollars, and Dubya alone 5-6 trillion in eight years, one thing for sure he won't be a President that will be forgotten anytime soon, so I guess in the end he got his legacy.

I just watched his victory speech and thought to add a quote from it: "The true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: Democracy, Liberty, Opportunity & Unyielding Hope".
